Crate Cafe – Healthy superfood bowls in Canggu / Bali

During my trip to Bali I discovered a whole new world of healthy and delicious food options. I had my first superfood bowl there and I am addicted since then. Acai is one of my favourite ingredients, especially because of it´s nice pink color. It´s a shame that it´s hard to get the fruit here (or if you are lucky, it´s expensive!). One of my favourite places for superfood bowls in Bali was the Crate Cafe in Canggu.

Crate Cafe

Crate Cafe (Facebook) is a hip cafe in the cute small surfer town Canggu, close to Kuta. The motto is: lifescrate :), I love it! Crate Cafe has a cool and creative interior with raw cement walls and stylish furniture with turquoise highlights. One wall in front of the cafe is painted with lovely pastel colors and symbols, a great backround for pictures :). There are nice accessories such as sun umbrellas in turquoise with flower prints.

Superfood Bowls

It´s hard to decide what to eat or drink, since the whole menu just sounds so great! All ingredients are super healthy and fresh, most of the options are vegetarian. There are lots of so called “Brekkie” dishes for breakfast (and served all day).  I ordered a “Hipstar” superfood bowl with acai, coconut, nuts, strawberries and chia seeds. My friend Luise decided for another variation with mango, ananas, papaya, coconut and nuts. Both bowls were absolutely awesome! I could eat this every day, seriously! The coffee was great too, as well as the smoothies and juices.

Canggu

The whole village Canggu looks like the perfect Instagram picture :). It´s so colorful! There are surfboards everywhere (as well as good-looking surfers :)), nice cafes, surfer fashion stores and a pretty beach. I would have liked to stay longer here (as usual) …
