La Cabrera – Best steak in Buenos Aires

Ohhhh this place really is one of my favorite restaurants of all time. I had the best steak of my life at La Cabrera. I visited Buenos Aires the first time in 2012 together with my friend Jo and everyone told us that we have to go to one of the best 10 restaurants in Buenos Aires to get the perfect steak experience. We did some research and asked many people and La Cabrera was recommended to us a few times. We did a reservation (a must! and better a while in advance) and were lucky to get a table. I will never forget this lovely evening.

La Cabrera

La Cabrera (Website) is located in my favorite area of Buenos Aires – in Palermo. When we arrived the waiters welcomed us very friendly. We decided to take a filet steak and it got served with many side dishes (different sauces, purée, corn with melted cheese on top, …). We had a lovely waiter (I guess he was in his end 70ies). dressed up very elegant with a white shirt, a flat cap, black pants and a tie – like in the old times. When he served us the dishes he was manually preparing our plates, picking every single piece and arranging it with so much love – I could clearly see that he had so much passion for his job and that really was warming my heart. I always smile when I think about it.

The steak – oh my god – it was melting on my tongue. I never had a better steak since then and I stopped eating steak in Germany afterwards. After this fantastic dinner Jo and me went to a tango place and watched a milonga. A superb night in Buenos Aires.

I went to Argentina this year in April again and of course had to come to La Cabrera (two times in the end). The quality didn´t change, it´s still the same great place. I have also recommended this restaurant a few times to friends who were visiting Argentina and everyone loved it.

Summary

Clearly 10 points for me. My favourite steak place of all times. Not too much pricey for the quality that you get. It´s worth every cent. Don´t forget to make a reservation way in advance.
