During my Indonesia trip I had a stopover in Malaysia and slept one night at the Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur. A colleague recommended me this hotel since it has a great location and because it is close to the Petronas Towers.
Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur
The Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur (Website) is a modern 5* Hotel and belongs to the luxury Shangri-La chain. We paid 95€ for the night for the double room. A good price for the location and the standard.
When we arrived to the hotel we were welcomed friendly. The receptionists were all working with tablets and everything looked extremely modern. We were offered to get access to the sky lounge by paying an additional fee (I think it was around 20€). The package also included late check-out and access until then to the sky lounge which in our case was great since we had an evening flight the next day.
The double room had a good size and was equipped with 2 spacious double beds. The design was simple but elegant and all decorated in warm yellow, brown and orange colors. We didn´t have the Petronas Towers view (you can pay also extra for that).
I loved the carpet with kissing lips on the floors of the hotel.
Sky Lounge & Bar
After leaving our stuff in the room we wanted to check out the sky lounge. The view is incredible: The Petronas Towers were just in front of us. The best view you can find in Kuala Lumpur for sure! We made our self a home and tried all the little snacks (bread, cheese, veggies, chicken skewers, soup, cakes and a lot more) and enjoyed some drinks with the beautiful view.
Unfortunately we had haze during our stay so the sky was grey and you almost couldn´t see a thing. Outside the hotel it was hard to breath and I got quickly headache. Furthermore there is not much to do in Kuala Lumpur apart from seeing the Petronas Towers and do some shopping. So we ended up a few times in the sky lounge (they have an afternoon tea as well ;)) and really used our bonus… It was our favourite place in Kuala Lumpur for sure :)!
The Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur also has a sky bar that we checked out at night. There is a pool as well. Hotel guests can use it during the day (we did that). We had a cocktail but didn´t like so much the atmosphere (it was more a club feeling with loud music). The view is nice though :).
Breakfast at the Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur was really good with lots of international options. There is so much different kind of food for all tastes that you have to stay minimum one week to try all!
There is a free shuttle with golf carts to the Petronas Towers.
